How it works

KAZAR COM interface is broken into 10 sections. These can be found by clicking the appropriate button shown in Figure one:
  Ignored - An easy way to fend off other users you would rather not know you.
  Settings - With this drop down menu, you can change the appearance, connection options, username/password and download/upload directories.
  Help - A modest guide on how to use the utility.
  Networks - This screen shows the connection status to the WP2P network and various OpenNap servers
  Shared Files - Gives you the option to change the location of the files you want to share, as well as those you download.
  Chat - Allows you to talk to other members.
  Search - This option allows you to look for the files you want.
  Hotlist - This is great option to find those hard and missing files you've been looking for.
  Transfers - This feature allows you to monitor the progress of your current uploads and/or downloads.
  Bandwidth - You can monitor the bandwidth you're on and find out the speed your downloading.

The Search Begins

1. This program KAZAR COM works almost identical to Napster. All you have to do is type in what you are looking for on the top box, located on the left hand corner, and you're good to go! Try to be specific, by either typing in the title or artist that you are looking for. For a more general, and bigger result, type in only the artists name to have everything associated with it come up.

2. To get the fastest search results, search only the KAZAR COM network.

3. Drop down this menu down to choose the specific bitrate of the song that you're looking for. KAZAR COM is great for all forms of media, whether it be music or movies. Now, click on Search to begin.

4. After you the search is finished, you can go ahead and click on Ping All Results. Look for low numbers, as they are the faster to download. When there multiple sources available, you will find it easier to obtain the file you want.

Trouble Shooting

eDonkey2000 sometimes has difficulty connecting to a server. Follow these steps to resolve this issue.
 

1. If you are having difficulty connecting, you will see a message in the message window (lower-right window).

2. If eDonkey2000 will not connect, type the command vm and enter. This will then display all available servers. There are more servers available to connect to.

3. To connect to one of these servers, type the command c 1(to log onto server number 1), or c 2 (to connect to server number 2), and so on until you get a connection message.

4. Type ? to get a list of commands.

Downloading

 

Once you click Search the search window will fill up with results

1. This represents the number of users that are sharing the file currently.

2. Ok, this is where things get a bit tricky. For this example, 3 files are available. Out of those 3, 2 are reporting broadband connections while 1 is on dial-up.

3. This is showing that out of the 6 available, 4 hosts have enough queue slots open for uploading. The 4 represents all hosts that are reporting broadband connections, while the zero (0) means than none of the hosts are on dial-up. If it was displayed like this: 4+2, that would mean out of the available 6 hosts, 4 were on broadband while 2 were on dial-up.

4. Always let the ping speed be your main guide. A general guideline is to use the new speed options in determining which file will download successfully. Once you know which file you want, simply double click. Click on Transfers to view the progress of your download.
